COMING FALL 2010
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

The College of Engineering plans to admit first year students to the BSBME program for Fall 2010. This program will provide an education that integrates the engineering and biomedical sciences with a 4-year design program. The degree culminates in an applied capstone design project. Students may elect to concentrate in biomechanics, biomaterials, or biomedical instrumentation.
The BSBME program is a highly selective program requiring a separate application. This application includes a required essay and optional letters of recommendation. Students interested in the program should first apply to the College of Engineering at admissions.wayne.edu. Once admitted, students should submit the BSBME Program Application (see below) and requested documentation. A maximum of 40 students will be accepted for each cohort (30 students for Fall 2010). Minimum admissions criteria for incoming freshmen are:
Minimum High School Math/Science gpa: 3.5
Minimum Math ACT: 29

For full consideration for the Fall 2010 semester, applications and accompanying documentation must be received by April 1, 2010. Students applying after that date will be reviewed and admitted on a space available basis.
Students may be invited to campus for an interview. Outstanding students may be admitted on a rolling basis. All other applicants who apply by April 1 will be notified of a decision by May 1.
Transfer students will be admitted in future years on a space available basis. Students who currently have college-level credit (community college, 4-year university, or WSU) who are interested in the BME program can meet with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to discuss options about joining the program.
