Chair's Message

Welcome to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Wayne State University. Located in the College of Engineering, our department offers BS, MS and PhD degree programs, with graduate specializations in structural, environmental, geotechnical, and transportation engineering. We also offer a MSCE degree in Construction Management--popular among those seeking careers linking engineering with business.

Our mission is to provide high quality educational and research programs to students, preparing them for long-term success in their professional careers.

Graduates of our program work in an array of different occupations from professional engineer, to research and development, to careers in business and government. Faculty and staff in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering endeavor to help all students achieve their personal educational goals through full-time or part-time study.
