Biomedical Engineeirng has emerged as medium combining medicine and engineering to provide materials, tools and technique advancing health care research, diagnosis and treatments.

Mission
The Wayne State University, Biomedical Engineering Society Student Chapter is dedicated to promoting the increase of biomedical engineering knowledge and its utilization through various activities. We aim to reach students who are interested in applying science and engineering principles to medicine. The Chapter also intends to focus on developing the professional aspects of student life by providing access to corporate speakers in the Biomedical Engineering field, hosting field trips to local industries and holding workshops geared towards helping the students to enter the workplace. Although in its infant stages, the WSU BMES Chapter is driven by the needs of a rapidly growing BME student body. We do this by providing assistance, guidance and an outlet for student's needs, concerns and enjoyment.
