Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical Engineering has emerged as a medium for combining medicine and engineering to provide the materials, tools and techniques needed to advance health care research, diagnosis and treatments.

Mission
Wayne State University's Biomedical Engineering Society Student Chapter is dedicated to promoting the increase of biomedical engineering knowledge and its utilization through various activities. We reach out to students who are interested in applying science and engineering principles to medicine. The Chapter  focuses on developing the professional aspects of student life by providing access to corporate speakers in the Biomedical Engineering field, hosting field trips to local industries and holding workshops geared towards helping students successfully enter the workplace. Although in its infant stages, Wayne's BMES chapter is driven by the needs of the rapidly growing student body of the BME department. We strive to provide assistance, guidance and an outlet for students' needs, concerns and enjoyment.
