The College of Engineering has been the recipient of endowments from generous donors over the years that allow us to support deserving students with tuition scholarships. These scholarships are targeted at students who demonstrate a combination of academic achievement, leadership, and financial need -- with the requirements of each depending on the wishes of the donor.
The Scholarship review process for the 2009-2010 academic year will take place in February. The application must be submitted by January 31, 2009, in order to be considered for scholarship funds. Along with the scholarship application, students must submit the following documents:
- The completed application form.
- Official transcript from WSU and/or other school you are currently attending.
- FASFA and the Univeristy’s Private Scholarship Application
- This makes you eligible for the largest pool of money available. Due to limited scholarship resources in the College, students are required to submit both additional applications to be considered for Engineering funds.
- Fill out the FASFA and Private Scholarship Application on-line. There is no need to attach copies to your Engineering application -- we will verify their submission at the time of review.
- A cover letter explaining why you believe you qualify for a scholarship.
- The cover letter should include a personal statement concerning your academic and career goals, extracurricular activities, and other information you deep important to this award process.
- A letter of recommendation is not required, but may be included.
If you are currently enrolled at Wayne State and are granted a scholarship, it is Mandatory that you attend the College of Engineering Honors Convocation Ceremony, tentatively scheduled for April 2009.
