EGSA was designed with the goal to unite the engineering community at WSU, while trying to have fun, be social and take a break from the normal at the same time. The main purpose of this organization is to provide engineering graduate students with both recreational and educational activities. This is accomplished by organizing activities for engineering graduate students, staff and faculty, providing a tool for graduates and faculty to converse, financial seminars, social gathers, and other fabulous events.

The Society of Women Engineers supports and encourages women in pursuit of their engineering degree. We educate young women about career opportunities in math, science, and engineering. We visit elementary, middle, and high schools to encourage young girls to pursue a career in engineering. We are involved in our community, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and at Soup Kitchens. We provide a supportive environment for women in engineering as well as offering a professional and social community. Regional and National Conferences are held in which we gather with other SWE members in order to network with industry and other women engineers in the field.

SWE Mission Statement:
The Society of Women Engineers stimulates women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expands the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in the quality of life, and demonstrates the value of diversity.
