Dr. Norman Li Distinguished Lecture

| The Dr. Norman Li Distinguished Lecture in Chemical Engineering has been established with a generous donation from Dr. Norman Li and his wife Dr. Jane Li. Dr. Norman Li, who received an MS from our department, is very well known in chemistry and chemical engineering research for his pioneering work on separations by liquid membranes. Dr. Li is a member of the National Academy of Engineering ( USA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences in China, and the Academia Sinica in Taiwan. He has received may awards, including the Perkin Medal (2000), the Alpha Chi Sigma Award for Chemical Engineering Research (1988), the Ernest W. Thiel Award (1995), the AIC Chemical Engineering Practice Award (2000), and the Fujimura Award for Lifetime Achievement in Intenational Techology Cooperation and Development (2001). He also received the ACS Award of Separation Science and Technology (1988). The Norman Li Distinguished Lectureship will enable us to bring leading researchers to our campus to speak about their work. The first Norman Li Distinguished Lectur, featuring Prof. Darsh Wasan of Illinois Institute of Technology, is scheduled for April 14, 2006. |
