| A group of young girls entering the sixth grade launched model rockets July 19 as part of their engineering course at Wayne State University. The girls were enrolled in the Women in Engineering Training program, bringing academically talented girls to the college for four weeks of classes in engineering, computers, communications and mathematics. The rockets were built by the students on their own without any help from their instructor to foster teamwork and better communication skills. The rockets were launched from the Wayne State athletic fields. |
